Android Installation Guide

๐Ÿ“ฑ Minecraft Bedrock – Android Installation Guide

This guide will help you install Add-Ons, Resource Packs, and Worlds for Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Android devices. These typically come in .mcaddon, .mcpack, or .mcworld formats.

We recommend using the XP Horizon website for this process, and this guide is based around it.

⬇️ Step 1: Downloading Your Pack

  1. Locate the pack you want to download on XP Horizon.
  2. Tap the file once to begin the download.
  3. Once the download finishes, tap the Download icon ⬇️.
  4. When prompted, select "Minecraft" as the app to open the file.

๐ŸŽฎ The file will now open Minecraft automatically and begin importing.

✅ Step 2: Import Confirmation

  • You will hear a notification sound and see "Import started..." at the top of your screen.
  • If successful, Minecraft will display "Successfully Imported." ๐ŸŽ‰

If you see "Failed to import" or "Duplicate Pack Detected," refer to the Troubleshooting Guide below.

๐Ÿงฉ Step 3: Using Your Content

Add-Ons / Resource Packs

  1. Open Minecraft, then go to the Create/Edit World screen.
  2. Tap "Resource Packs" or "Behavior Packs."
  3. Under the Available section, locate your new pack and press "Activate."

⚠️ Note: Many Add-Ons require both behavior and resource packs to function correctly. Make sure to activate both.

๐ŸŒ Worlds

  • Your newly imported world will appear on the Worlds screen automatically.
  • Make sure the import was successful before opening it.

๐ŸŽŠ You're Done!

๐Ÿ› ️ Troubleshooting Guide

If your pack won’t import, here are the most common issues and solutions:

♻️ Duplicate Pack Detected

Cause: You're trying to import a pack that’s already installed.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings > Storage in Minecraft.
  2. Locate the pack under the appropriate category.
  3. Tap it and press the Trash Can icon ๐Ÿ—‘️ to delete it.
  4. Try importing the new version again.

⚠️ General Import Error

Cause: Minecraft couldn't import the file but didn’t specify why. Possible issues include:

  • Missing manifest.json
  • Incorrect formatting
  • Unknown internal errors

Solution:

  • If you're unfamiliar with fixing this, the best approach is to contact the pack creator for help.
  • You may also try redownloading the pack.

❌ Not a Valid ZIP Archive

Cause: This typically means:

  • The file was corrupted during download, or
  • The pack was improperly packaged by the creator.

Solution:

  • Try re-downloading the pack.
  • If you know how, try a manual installation.
  • If issues persist, contact the developer or content creator for further assistance.
